Counselling and supervision for Trainee and Qualified Counsellors
As a counsellor it is imperative that you engage in supervision when working with clients. The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) states that a counselling supervision must be undertaken as an opportunity for support and guidance when working with your clients.
What will happen at supervision?
- You will discuss your client work to ensure both your and their safety
- Guidance will be offered to ensure that you are taking the right approach to meet your client’s needs
- Will give you an opportunity to discuss how client work may be impacting on you and help you decide what to take to personal counselling
- You will have a confidential space to share your concerns and look at how these can be resolved using the BACP Ethical Framework
